Lindsey Marshall, Shoulder Surgery – Chad Zehms, MD

Lindsey Marshall had been in pain for more than three years after two automobile accidents injured the same shoulder. Pain had become part of her daily life and kept her from doing the things she loved most. Now she’s finally found relief and is happy to tell everyone about the orthopedic surgeon who helped her get her life back. Lindsey’s troubles began with her first car accident in 2015. She was struck from behind by another vehicle and injured her right shoulder. “I had arthroscopic surgery at another orthopedic center in the area,” she said. “Nothing was torn and I didn’t have rotator cuff damage. They removed a bursitis sac from where bursitis had set in and they shaved off some damage from inflammation.” Three years later, in October 2018, Lindsey was driving on I-75 when she was again hit from behind, this time much harder. “From what I understand, a young driver realized she was about to miss her exit and cut all the way across several lanes of traffic,” she said. “She ended up hitting me at 80 miles per hour.” Read More

Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Chad T. Zehms: From the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field to the rolling fairways of Hilton Head Island

There is a world of difference between Green Bay, Wisconsin and Hilton Head Island. Especially this time of year. There is, however, one place where the two may as well be one and the same.

“I live in Sea Pines now, and we discovered Jump ‘n’ Phil’s fairly quickly,” said Dr. Chad T. Zehms, a recent transplant from the land of the cheeseheads. “We go in there for Packer games and I feel like I’m back in Green Bay.” Read More

Comprehensive Orthopedic Care (Shoulders, Elbows, Hips & Knees)
  • Arthroscopy of the hip with advanced techniques in labral repair and reconstruction (Note: Dr. Zehms is one of only two surgeons between Atlanta, Savannah and Jacksonville who perform hip arthroscopy)
  • Arthroscopic ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair and transplantation
  • Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair
  • Sports arthroscopy of the hip, shoulder, knee, elbow and ankle
  • Cartilage restoration and replacement
  • Advanced trauma/fracture repair

During my high school athletic career in cross-country and track and field at Notre Dame Academy in Green Bay, WI, I suffered several injuries that may have prevented me from continuing my goal of competing at the collegiate level. The care I received helped me return to running and is what inspired me to choose Orthopedic Sports Medicine as my speciality.  My goal is to not only help other athletes return to their sport, but also achieve and surpass the goals they’ve set for themselves. While training under one of the pioneers in hip arthroscopy, Dr. Marc Philippon at the Steadman Pilippon Sports Medicine Clinic, I learned the most advanced techniques in labral repair and reconstruction and treated members of the U.S. Ski Team, the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos.

My military orthopedic experiences serving our active duty marines and sailors, both at home and in Afghanistan, have given me a very unique understanding and perspective treating complex fractures and sports related injuries in our elite special forces. After a life changing accident or injury, I hope that this experience will bring comfort to patients and their families during a very difficult time in their lives.
