Q. CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN MY INSURANCE BENEFITS TO ME?

A. We have financial counselors at all facilities that are available to discuss your specific benefits with you.

Below are some general definitions that you may find helpful as well:

Deductible:  the specified amount an insured patient must meet prior to their insurance
company paying on a claim.

Out-of-Pocket Max:  The most you will be required to pay during the policy period (typically a year).

Co-Insurance:  The percentage a patient is required to pay AFTER the deductible has been met, but BEFORE the out-of-pocket max has been reached.

Co-Pay:  A fixed payment for a covered service each time the insured patient receives that service.


Q. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH MY ESTIMATED COSTS BEFORE SURGERY?

A. Yes! Our Financial Counselors can assist in providing estimated charges, please contact the facility you are scheduled with Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Q. WHO NOTIFIES INSURANCE ABOUT MY SURGERY?

A. We have a team of Precertification Representatives who have been trained in working with insurance companies to ensure they are informed of your upcoming procedure and obtain the necessary approval prior to the date of service. Typically this process requires time. Please be patient as our representatives get all necessary records sent to your insurance for review. Any insurance issues will be communicated back to the physician’s medical staff and to you as needed.


Q. WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS?

A. We accept payment by cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. A photo ID and insurance card(s) will be required at check-in.


Q. CAN I PAY MY BILL ONLINE?

A. Yes! Please visit our online bill pay for payment options.


Q. WHO DO I CALL IF I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT MY BILL?

A. Please contact a billing manager about your bill Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Q. DO OPTIM FACILITIES TAKE MY INSURANCE?

A. Optim facilities accept a wide array of commercial plans, as well as, most Medicaid and Medicare plans. We also work with most MVA and Workers Compensation claims. If you have questions about your policy specifically, please contact a Financial Counselor at the facility you are scheduled with Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Q. WILL I RECEIVE MORE THEN ONE BILL FROM MY SURGERY?

A. Yes. The physician, anesthesiologist, and facility all bill separately. Therefore, you can expect at least three bills from your procedure. However, we can work with these providers to give you a complete estimate prior to surgery.
