KNEE REPLACEMENT AND KNEE ARTHROSCOPY
PHYSICIAN: JOHN P. GEORGE, MD

I have recommended Optim to a lot of people, and will continue to do so. All I have is praise for my care with Optim Healthcare.

I have had problems with my knee since I was a senior in high school back in 1955 and I had to finally get surgery three years later when it compounded, at the old University Hospital in Augusta.  Years later, I had knee arthroscopy done on the other knee by John George, MD at St. Joseph’s Candler. He did such a great job and I have not had any problems with that knee for over 15 years. Unfortunately, four years ago the knee that I had my first surgery on back in 1958 starting acting up again. It was extremely painful and so I decided to go back to see Dr. George. We decided that a total knee replacement was necessary, so he performed my surgery at Optim Medical Center-Tattnall.

The hospital in Reidsville is awesome. From the reception, to the janitorial service. All I can give are accolades to all the employees at Tattnall.   My past experience with Dr. George gave me the confidence to continue to see Optim doctors. I have seen Dr. Juha JaakkolaDr. Heiges and Dr. George‘s PA-C, Mickey McBroom, and my wife and I see Dr. Sherma Peter here in Sylvania (Family Medicine), and she’s truly top-notch. I was also very pleased with Micky’s expertise in Sports Medicine while he treated the athletes of Jenkins County High School, while I was coaching football a few years ago.

I am currently still using Optim’s facilities here in Sylvania. I had back surgery in November of 2012 with a neurosurgeon at Memorial and am presently using the rehab facility at Optim Medical Center-Screven. The Physical Therapy staff at Screven all do a wonderful job and I’m so impressed with their expertise. And lastly, the lab techs at Screven are also the best at getting my tough-to-get-at veins.
